Hello KISSters!
LOVE KISSlicer for all single extruder work; converted to dual and now . . . LOST.
Super-n00b lost.
SETUP:
SMCNC V4/Duet2 wifi/2:1 Y-bowden dual extrusion kit
According to the SMCNC CURA setup you pull the filaments away from the Y-connector 40mm to start.
This would imply that something then tells the machine to push/pull the filaments accordingly.
Not sure if I need to modify KISS, Duet config, or BOTH?
I've got KISS generating a test with short pillar:
When I run my KISS'ed stl the filament feeds as if it were running from 2 separate HEs ready to feed, not rapidly feeding E0, then retracting/feeding E1
I just don't know where to start with the whole retraction/feed issues
Guessing magic has to happen here:
and here:
CAN SOMEONE PLEASE POINT ME IN THE RIGHT DIRECTION/S?
There must be some documentation somewhere on how this is achieved as you guys have been doing multi-extruder prints for at least 2years, right?
Hopefully I can lure Hackney(HA!)
get it?
cast,
tug, tug, tug
Thanks in advance!!
UPDATE:
I got the Printer and Extruder settings from SMCNC for CURA, so if I put them into KISS correctly they should work(?)
Can anyone point out the correct KISS locations for these?
I've got this so far:
nevermind.
I just learned that I couldn't revert out of the changes I made and when I reset to default it wiped out what there was...
dang....derp

Re: Dual Extruder set-up: SMCNC V4 ROSTOCK / Duet2
There's really 4 sections of the Printer G-code that you need to use which relate to the filament handling during the loading and unloading:
Prefix
Select New Extruder & Warm
Cool & Retire Old Extruder
Postfix
Obviously Prefix and Postfix sections are used only once at the start and end of the print.
If you download my Prusa Mk2 + MMU settings from the main site (in the FTP folder "KISS V2 MMU Profiles"), I think that should be a good starting place for you.
Note that I keep the extruder moving over the purge tower during unload/load to prevent blobs.
