Please advice.
I have new problem, look at image below

So, PreloadVE calibrated (0.25), seam is very good at bottom (bottom layers ~0.25mm), but very very poor on top (top layer ~0.1-0.15mm).
Is this a result of "Z-Settle = 0.5mm"? I captured that print head slightly moves up and down while nozzle continues extruding.

Z-Settle is intended for printers with beds which move down during print with fixed-height extruders. Not required for printers where the extruder moves in the Z axis.

I have also noticed the same effect both with different layer heights and when printing the same model with fixed layer heights but different speeds.

I use diy ultimaker printer, so, Z moves down.
I need to use Z lifting option only to prevent making lines during travel moves. Which difference between ZSettle and Zlift?

Sorry, I was making the assumption due to your comment: " I captured that print head slightly moves up and down " ;)

OK, Z-lift in your case moves the bed down at the start of a travel move and up at the end of a travel move. That is fine because the final movement is upwards against gravity (removing any backlash). The problem occurs at the end of each layer when the bed is moved down (with gravity) by the layer thickness and may not travel all the way - it relies on gravity overcoming the system friction.

So you then use Z-Settle. Lets say that your layer heights are 0.2mm and you set Z Settle to 0.5mm. At the end of a layer, the bed would move down 0.7mm and raise 0.5mm. This reduces the possibility of any backlash occurring and removes the hope that gravity will overcome the friction.

New KISSlicer make me crazy! a-a-a-a-a-a-a!

I printed few times same model with different settings, with stepover and without. So, PreloadVE calibrated very well, but quality of printed model - very very very very poooooor!

The main problem - is over-extrude (or no retract!) for layers with SparseInfill (I'm right? this is sparseinfill?)

What's your retraction setting?

so, retraction works perfect on loops/perimeters

Hello abuharsky,

I'll do the best I can to help, but it might be several issues not all of which I mention here. I notice your Trigger is set to 20 mm which seems high to me if you want destrings and wipes on shorter segments of sparse infill travel moves. According to Dreide which can be found here viewtopic.php?f=6&t=332&start=10, the Min Jump and Trigger work as follows
------------------------------------
"Wipes can be caused by:
Travel moves that cross perimeters or come really close to perimeters.
Changing to the next layer (which implies 1., but see below).
Travel moves that exceed the Trigger setting.

However, a potential wipe is suppressed if the according travel move is shorter than the Min Jump setting, with one exception: if the wipe has been triggered explicitly (cause 3) and is not followed by a layer change (cause 2), the wipe is actually not suppressed, irrespective of the Min Jump setting. In other words, the Trigger setting trumps the Min Jump setting, except when the wipe is (also) caused by a layer change."
------------------------------------
Also, have you tried to run the same settings with PreloadVE turned off (set to 0) just to see if this new feature makes a difference the way you have it configured? Maybe you could cut the part down in CAD and test these things by printing only the section you're having problems with to save time.

inventabuild thank you for advice!

So, seems to be problem solved at "Min jump = 0" and "Trigger = 0", but too many retracks now :))), some additional noise :)))

Nice print abuharsky. Looks like it's coming along nicely.
