Trouble CUBEX TRIO and KS BETA 1.5.2.7

Post by HowardM »

the end mess
the end mess
Hi,

I am getting a strange result when building a part on a CUBEX TRIO FW1.07 using KS. I have tried version 1.1.0 which gave worse results so I tried the latest beta. I download the CUBEITMOD5B5 and followed the install instructions loading in the G Code where directed.
What's happening is the first layer goes down nearly perfect, but at some point in the build (gcode around line 3700) the extrusion begins to splatter. And continues to splatter to the point the part looks like a bird's nest.
I'm attaching screen shots of my settings, photos of the part in various stages and the gcode.

Help!

Well I am new to Kisslicer and I do not know about the internal workings of the Cubex, but that is under extrusion. So one or a combination of
Extruder temp. too low
Nozzle blockage
Problem with your drive system
Poorly dimensioned filament which is sticking
Is the filament held in a proprietary Cubex cartridge, I think? Have you tried a different cartridge and got the same result?
Have you tried clearing your nozzle?
As far as I can see your print speed is 20-22mm/s and layer height .250mm so I am thinking that a temp. of 250 should be OK but I am no ABS expert. You could set your layer height to .100mm and see if that improves the situation.
I do not know what that flow tweak is – is it increasing flow by 11%. Each to their own but I have always considered flow tweak to be fudge that is overcoming something else that is wrong in the software settings or the hardware. Others may disagree.

I reran the build using a 100% INFILL setting and got a better result see photo.
I'm using ABS at 250F, the flow tweek is based on calibrating the layer thickness using KS guidelines.

I'm attaching the GCode for this.

To me, I looks like the first layer goes down great.
Then it starts to lay down an infill pattern which continues until it reaches the part's wall thickness of 0.100". No skin is made however.
Then it finishes the build in solid layering since there is no infill required.

Somewhere, either in the KS software settings or the machine's firmware the request for infill to be solid (I assume that means 100%) is not happening.

Also there's a couple of missing layers and a "rough" spot on the outer wall (photo included)
