Toggle support material base interface layer

I STILL want to be able to disable the bottom support interface layer.
The bottom interface is pretty much impossible to remove when support is generated over a flat surface of the model.
I have been using Beta 1.1.0.5 from January 2013 when I have a model that this is an issue with.

Why you aren't using latest betas ?
You have z gap to play with...

For most of my prints, I am using the latest betas.
I only use Beta 1.1.0.5 when I have a model that needs support above flat parts of the model. Beta 1.1.0.5 does not generate an interface at the base of the support material.
Z gap only controls the top interface to model gap, not the base support interface.

single extruder, reducing flow gain in support settings doesn't seem to help.
I requested being able to toggle this when Jonathan first added it.
