[RePost] Support for 3mf

I know this has already been posted, but it's on page 9 of a very interesting thread and might have gotten lost with the others.

3mf is becoming more and more a standard. Some models posted on sites like printables.com only come in 3mf now.

It would be amazing if we could get support for 3mf in Kisslicer.

Thanks.

You can just open the 3mf (zip) file and extract the meshes.

But I will pass on the suggestion (again).

Great. Thank you.

Based on the couple files I tried with the model trick - that actually didn't work. Kisslicer says the file is broken and asks if it should fix the files.
No matter what I do, files open as empty.

Yeah, those 3mf files don't contain basic STL files.

I just opened a 3mf in PSlicer and saved the STL. Loads into KISS just fine.

(will forward my findings as well...)

Yeah, that's how I ended up using these files too, but... ;)
As much as I like Kisslicer and believe it gives better print quality overall... opening 3mf files in one slicer to save for another is a touch cumbersome.

Thanks for forwarding the findings. Hopefully we'll get a new release soon. And maybe in one of the upcoming ones, 3mfs will just work ;)

Yup, it is a real PITA.

Unfortunately, I know someone who is currently extremely busy but has a dislike of 3mf files. :(

Will work on it.

Quick update... I probably shouldn't mention this but  :o

I just dropped a .3mf file onto a test version of Kisslicer and it opened the model...

Oh no. You definitely SHOULD mention stuff like that :)
Along with a link for said test version ;)
