Rotation around Z axis fails

I'm trying to move two parts to set them in parallel for improved performance.
So I go to Transform Mesh/Scale and rotate, I select 90ยบ for the part and apply.

This is before:

I don't know if I'm doing something wrong or it is really a bug.
I expected the part to be rotated around the Z axis.
Running the linux version.

Kind regards,
Jes.

Easiest way to rotate a part is to use simple rotation:

You might also wat to check

Menu/All Models/Auto-Rotate for Packing

and also change the packing option (Misc/Packing Options/Object Packing Quality) from "Fast" to "Balanced" or even "Precise".

But note that the higher packing quality settings may take some time to complete (depending on model)

Thanks for the alternatives, Peter.
I think I have to read the manual again...

Kind regards.
Jes.
