Alpha 1.6.3 Unload feature

Has anyone tested the Unload feature yet? I was hoping it would slow down the last 25mm of sparse infill to perimeter speed. But I only see a comment in G-code: "Path end 25.00[mm] slowed to Perim speed" and then it just keeps going. Nothing is actually slowed. (Tried to upload .STL and .BFB here, but "the board attachment quota has been reached".)

Unload is an coasting/Island feature. Tooltip say "Slows the last path on a Island to Perimeter"

OK I'm confused. What does an "island" mean? I thought, e.g., when I have two solid parts, the printer traces perimeter on one, then fills it in, then goes to the second part to start the perimeter there -- that's an island, isn't it? (Still can't upload an example, dammit. The board's still full.)

i hope this Video will help to understand what Island/coasting is https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WWpdGY0V-gM

Thanks for the link. It only explains coasting, though. I don't think it mentions islands. What are islands?

Must be the same with other Name. Like destring and retract

So how does Unload work exactly? Only during coast? Have you tried it? Do you have an example?

I had the same results with a test cube; the comment was in place but no slow down.

My understanding is that this feature is present to allow the nozzle pressure to drop which in turn will assist the Preload unload operation.

The unload should be based on a volumetric value anyway; this will be changed shortly, so Jonathan will check this possible fault at the same time.
