Enhanced Prime Tower for purging filament?

Some of the new multiple extruder / single hotend designs out there, like the Cyclops, need to be able to purge a certain volume of material when it switches from one filament to the other.
An option to define a solid prime tower, either by diameter or by volume of material would be awesome.
Although I kinda like MatterControl, it's pretty slick, but I'm a diehard KISSlicer superfan.
In order to increase interlayer adhesion between the two possibly different materials, it looks like it
- runs the square from two outside opposite corners towards the center for extruder 1
- runs the square from the center to each corner for extruder 2
That way you have mostly the same material for the outside perimeter, with a strip of material 2 in the center, most likely alternating between two sets of corners.
The same strategy could be used for a round prime pillar as well if that's easiest.
For examples of other's solutions:
In Cura they support a square solid prime tower defined by the amount of material to purge, measured in millimeters.
In MatterControl they support a square solid prime tower defined by the length of the side
Thanks!
