Hi all!

I want to use my dual extruder with 0.35mm in one extruder and 0.5 in the other one.
In the rare cases I need to print with both I would use one for support or different material type (flexible and PLA for example).

The only parameter I found I could adjust is Extruder Gain (seems to be used for different Gear ratios or so).

Did anybody use it already to compensate for different extruder sizes and is my assumption right that r² ratios (0.35/2)²/(0.5/2)² = 0.49 would be the gain of the extruder of the 0.5 nozzle if 1 is the gain for the 0.35 nozzle?

p.s.: I know that I can setup different printers for printing only on one or the other extduders 'in single mode'. This is what I am doing already when one of the extruders is 'in repair'.

The slicer (any slicer, actually) doesn't care about the nozzle diameter.
Nozzle diameter is not used for any of the calculations involved.

Slicers deal in volumes extruded, not in the size or shape of the orifice.

So why Slic3r, Cura, Simplify are asking for nozzle diameter ?
Hint: they are not really doing volumetric calculation (or they just started to explore it, while KS had it from day one).

Well this is a subject I have little knowledge of but how do you calculate the volume required if you do not know the nozzle size? A larger nozzle prints a wider line and needs more material. For sure if you have a line width parameter then you do not need it but up until the most recent release Cura has not had a line width. I do not recall Slic3r having a line width either but it has been some time since I last used that.

You are supplying the needed info for columetric printing:

1) Filament diameter
2) Layer thickness
3) Extrusion width
4) Print speed

WIth above data you can do it.
