Cubex Print issue
Hello All,
I am fairly new to the 3d printing world, at least in owning my own, I have worked on and with projet's, objet's, and the like for many years. but I came across a pretty good deal on a brand new unopened cubex. so I have had it now for about 8 months and have been having moderate success with it. but have been really trying to get the settings tuned in.
so I ran the calibration wall and they looked... ok I guess, but shortly afterwards I ran the calibration cube, twice (and by twice I mean I ran it once, took it off and ran the exact same print again. not I ran the same model twice on the same print)
here were the results: As you can see there is one part that consistently doesn't turn out well. so I left it for a few weeks and didn't try anything, then I printed a decently large cylinder for another project and had similar results.
Then last night I printed some dies for my Bead roller before I machine the right ones. and here is how they turned out. again there is this consistent "lack" of material in the same movement on the X and Y axis. it occurs both inside and outside the part:
Has anybody else seen this before?
any thoughts on what it might be?

Re: Cubex Print issue
Hey there and welcome
Have you done any modification on your printer?
Is everything still from stock?
I looks like you have problems with your flow. Have you tuned in your M227 and M228 settings?
These are your prime and suck setting when finishing and starting a path.
What temperatures are you printing at?
I have done a lot of modifications on mine 2 cubeX and they are printing fairly OK and constant.

Re: Cubex Print issue
The only things I have done to the printer were to add a rip-rap heater to the build platform, which I need to redo because it doesnt fully heat the build area.
and I enclosed the printer with plexiglass and added a door to the front. other than that the printer is completely stock from the factory.
as far as all the settings go please check out the file I attached it has screenshots of all the settings I have used for this print.

Hi,natholego11 wrote:any thoughts on this issue?
looks like a M227, 228 issue.
first try to set M228S = 0
if it's better but not enough you have to reduce the other parameters M227 & 228.
Look into the old posts ( here on this forum or into the Goolge's goups, Cubex or Kisslicer group ) I've described how these parameters works.

Looking for that value, but I dont see anywhere that says M228S or M228P anywhere in Kisslicer, where is this value you are talking about?

This is the screen shot you've previously sent. To change the names into the menu you have to load the language file Cubeitmod.ponatholego11 wrote:Giovanni V. wrote:natholego11 wrote:any thoughts on this issue?

Ok, so I tried a print with M227S at 0 that helped but not enough, so I changed M227P to 0 and that made it worse. Here are the results from that print:

Re: Cubex Print issue
The last pictures you sent show at least 2 different problems.
1 - seam problem related to M227 M228 parameters
2 - some layers are weak, you have to solve this problem before the seam problem.
Look this :
viewtopic.php?f=20&t=1262&p=3413&hilit=heat+sink#p3395
read the document into the Motor.zip file and check the diameter of your filament.
Use standard parameters like those :
M227P =0.06
M227S=0.02
M228P=0.0
M228S=0.01
After you solved the problem and your printer can print all the layers the same you can refine the seam parameters.

well, I started to do this work, and fried the motherboard. so there goes that printer.
Thanks for the help though, It was a good run!
