Bed STL Model position for round printers

i'm trying to upload an accurate bed stl for a delta style printer but no matter how i save the coordinate system of the stl, it insists on uploading the file sitting flat on top of the bed (rather than sunk beneath it) and front left "corner" of the model is always centered on the build area. is there a way around this, or what am i missing?

my goal is to upload a bed model that won't be totally round, but will better indicate the maximum areas reachable by the printer, since it's more of a six-pointed star with rounded lobes than an actual circle

i'm currently using v1.5 beta 2.22, maybe this has been addressed in later versions?

No experience, but if you want to share your bed stl, I'll give it a shot on release 1.6.2
