I have been having problems with this Ripples and waves on the sides of round parts. No matter what filament i use (ABS, PLA, PETG, etc...) the ripple is always there.(see attached) I don't have this issue straight wall parts. Any help would be appreciated.

I seem to recall reading somewhere that reducing acceleration settings can cure this problem.

May well be incorrect, but may be worth a try.

Hi Peter,
Where can I adjust the acceleration settings?

With the Cubex you can't set the acceleration.

Are you still printing with the same settings ? before the parts were OK and now you have the ripples ?

If yes, check the belts tensions.

If the belts are OK, try to reduce the perimeter speed.

I only get these ripples and waves when I am printing round parts with slight overhang. As you can see in the photo the part is printing very well until it starts to flare out at the top. That's when the ripples start.

What layer thickness and extrusion width are you using for those prints? I start getting surfaces that look like that when each perimeter isn't supported enough by the perimeter below it. You could do a quick test with thinner layers, or wider extrusion width, or slower / more cooled perimeters.

thanks,
Jonathan

P.S. When the new beta to arrives, it has some features that will be useful [8^)

Jonathan,
You were right. I have a 0.4 tip and my extrusion width was 0.3. With a little bit of experimentation, setting the extrusion width to 0.5 reduced the ripples.

Thank you for your advice,

John

Now I have another issue. For dual extrusion the keep warm setting is not working. While the other extruder is printing the other extruder cools completely down.
