NEWBIE question

Post by jonhorrocks »

I have a cubex duo. I was using the CubeItMod491 and things were mostly ok however when I went to 605 my models dont seem to have a base they are now completely hollow where before it would do a few layer solid base. I also printed the tree frog and it has no bottom.

Use Kisslicer 1.5 with Cubeitmod6.05

Post your settings into "Style" tab.

Here you go. I also seem to have an issue where on the top of the frogs head I have a hole almost like the PLA is too hot however I dropped temps with same result. My layers look good though :D

Change the infill from hollow to something like 5 or 10 %...

So before I would have it set to hollow and still get a base. I will give it a try now

Set Infill to 25 or 33 % and Skin thickness to 0.18

well its now 90% there. I have a bottom and the nose between the eyes and top of legs looks better however still has what looks like a melted hole but much smaller hole than I had before. Would this be temp related?
Hard to tell in PIC but here it is

90 is too much. It is a waste of material and time.
Either way, It must be a cool issue.
Try the solution suggested in this posts,

viewtopic.php?f=20&t=1291

The min layer time and the prime pilar may help.

That helped a little. Do you think I should lower temp from 195?

The temp really depends on the filament brand.
I use filament from 180 to 230... all PLA.
In some cases I notice that increasing the temperature increases the cuality of the hanging parts. But this is not the case.
After all, the problem is not in the latest layers.
Can you post a better picture?
Thank you.
