New Version CubeItModV6.05
Posted: 26 Feb 2016, 09:36
Hi,
I had to print hundreds of parts with very complex surfaces, the way CubeitmodV6.03 managed this wasn't good that's why I've developed this new version.
The "Solid" and "Infill straight" paths are now calculated with the same and new algorithm but you can still adjust them differently using Infill%, ShortInfill%, S/I/R% and ShortSolid%.
To have a perfect solid surface on short, medium and long paths I had to give more control parameters, now the prefix section into KS looks like this :
; InterfaceSpeed [mm/s] = 25
; ShortSolid% = 35
; ShortInfill% = 20
; Exp = 1.4
; VShift = 1.11
; HShift = 0.3
; HighLimit = 1.11
; SmallLoopSpeed = 4
; LoopSegLength = 0.4
; LoopSegAngle = 22
^Firmware:V1.07
G21
G90
The parameters for the Solid path are now : Solid% ( into Matl tab ), ShortSolid%, Exp, VShift, HShift, HighLimit.
To help you set them use the Excel file, print one part like "finetune.stl", if the surface is not perfect open the Excel file, enter into the excel file all the parameters like you have used to slice the printed part, press the button "Copy New to Compare", now look at the surface of the part you printed, determine the areas where there's too much extrusion and the areas where there's not enough extrusion, measure the path lengths on these areas, change the yellow parameters for the Solid correction to change the curve, if you want increase the extrusion on a path length the curve must go up, to decrease go down.
Once you have changed the curve the way you want, change the settings into KS like those into Excel, print again and if needed repeat the correction.
I'm very happy with this version, got very beautiful parts while other people with other printers could not do the same.
The settings are Speed related, if you change the speeds you have to tune again the parameters.
The Excel curb has steps because it emulates the way the Cubex works, the Cubex has a speed of 18mm/s or 19mm/s or a RPM of 1.2 or 1.3 but no intermediate values, as the values make jumps the curb make steps.
As always your feedback are more than welcome.
Happy printing.
Giovanni
p.s. USE ONLY WITH KISSLICER v1.5 beta 2.20 or HIGHER
