Re: KISSlicer 1.5 Beta 2 - in development
2.20 was uploaded about 2 months ago. shortly after that lonesock went silent. i think he gets busy with other things and just stops any chatter here. so we never know really. its a bit unnerving but ks mostly works when you can work around the issues. when he is active hes really active here. thats part of the contrast that can be confusing.

Re: KISSlicer 1.5 Beta 2 - in development
I can't get KISSlicer to produce working dual extrusion G-code.
Using beta 2.20 on Linux X64. At some point, after several layers and corresponding tool changes, it screws up and starts printing with the wrong filament:
Around the same time, possibly at exactly the same time, it shuts off the heater.
I can't fathom why this would be. Any ideas? Why wouldn't it fail at the first or second tool change - why would it go on for ten or twenty minutes and THEN fail?

Hi Jonathan,
I hope everything is good. Can you please make the Wall bond better to the build plate like you did for the Prime Pillar. It is too easy for the Wall to come loose when printing w/ materials like ABS which have a tendency to warp. Alternatively putting a small brim on the first layer of the wall will be very helpful. Thank you.
Mitch

Aloha, a new beta of Kisslicer in the DropBox, 2.21, where mainly Crowning is improved. Test it with crowning set to 0 (zero). With me, it was giving great results:

Awesome, Jonathan is back.
The crowning mod obviously offered some improvements, but it did not fix gaps in letters that I print on the top of a box. Below shows the letter "A" actually prints better w/ Crowing = 1 (1st pic) than it does w/ Crowing = 0 (2nd pic) where Oversample Resolution was 0.1 in both cases.

@inventabuild: Jonathan is pushing the 1.5 release to be final, but you never know what ultimate feature he's stumbling on and wanting to get it in as well
Can you set the path coloring to "path type", so it's easier to see what's a crowning path. Not that it will solve your issue....

Re: KISSlicer 1.5 Beta 2 - in development
funBart,
Here it is. I'm using two extruders and assigned ext2 to the text. The 1st pic shows Crowing =1 which prints better than the 2nd pic which shows Crowning =0. How can Crowing = 1 fill in the solid spaces in the model better than Crowing = 0?
(Edit: re-loaded these pics w/ Wipe = 0 to eliminate the unnecessary Wipe color in the pics)
Also, it would be nice if Jonathan could improve the adhesion of the Wall to the bed w/ either 1) giving it a brim at its base, 2) giving it a squiggly at its base like he did w/ the Prime Pillar or 3) allowing more loops although this adds time and filament to tall builds. In its current form I can't use it w/ ABS because it comes loose from the bed with only one loop to hold it down.
In addition, KISSlicer adds the line "G1 X0.00 Y0.00 F3600 ; go to next printing position" at the end of every job and I'd like to pick my end position for example X20 Y25 because I modded my printer and X0.00 Y0.00 causes my hot end to bang the corner clip for short prints if I forget to go in and change that line of g-code.
Thanks,
Mitch
