KISSlicer Has An "Ugly" Bug

Post by inventabuild »

Whenever I slice more than one object on the bed with KISSlicer my prints come out with ugly strings that look like my print caught some kind of virus.

The last pic shows a table printed with a prime pillar. The pillar stopped printing for an unknown reason then KISSlicer started printing strings on the legs.

The second picture shows a closeup of one of the stringy legs that KISSlicer printed.

The first pic shows a table and wall (separate stls) printed together w/out a prime pillar. Once again KISSlicer started adding strings to my prints, especially the wall.

Here is a YouTube link showing the print of the wall with strings added by KISSlicer:

http://youtu.be/OwRupl1I6zk

These added strings occur w/ both KISSlicer_Win64_1.5beta1.17 and KISSlicer_Win64_1.5beta1.16 whenever I slice more than one object at a time w/ KISSlicer. If I print only a single object KISSlicer is still the best slicer out there.

I hope Jonathan can fix this "Ugly" bug soon because I often have to print multiple objects at a time and I'm concerned it might possibly affect dual extruder prints as well although I haven't tested for that yet.

What type of printer is it? Is there any change in the temp of the hot end when  this occurs

Printer = TAZ 4. Unfortunately, I did not check the hot end history during these occurrences.

Well, I often print with my printer unattended from SD card so not really sure how to get history of hot end temp under that scenario.

I do remember walking in on a stringy print and the hot end temp was right where it was supposed to be at 230 C for ABS; however I did not wait around for more strings to print, I just killed the job.

It's interesting to note that in one of my prints mentioned above, the prime pillar stopped printing for an unknown reason, and then the strings started printing.

Like I said, single objects print fine, only multiple objects get stringy and that include counting the prime pillar as an object.

Well, there you go then. The strings are what the prime pillar should be built of, but since the prime pillar is not there, the strings attach to the next thing the hotend touches.
Does the prime pillar get detached from the bed?

Mikk36,

Great observation. How does one create a brim for the prime pillar to keep it locked to the bed?
