Help, something wrong with layers

Post by Ros »

Hello,

Recently when I start a print the first layers print perfect, something and flat, but when it remaches about 0.3mm or 0.4mm the nozzle seems to los se the Zgap and starts to touch the printed surface making the material melt and ugly...

Any idea?

This is from the base layer, and it's ok

Sorry the first image is from the base layer, the second is when it begins to fail

Some points to be evaluted:

1) Z axis movement is precise, slack free ?
2) Filament diameter is set right ? (seems a bit overextruded)
3) Z offset seems a bit too small or bed roughness is set too high.

Best Regards

1- Yes seems precise
2- Yes diameter is ok
3- Z height calibration is how CubeX need to be, in ksl no offset applied and no roughness

That's definitely a sign of overextruding. Whether it's the layer heights being less than they're told or extruding more than you're supposed to is up to you to find out, but I'd just reduce the steps per mm for the extruder or increase the filament width setting in Kisslicer.

Hi Ros,

Did you setup a thickness higher than result of loop number? I mean if you set 1 mm in thickness and 1 loop (with a 0.5 nozzle) for example you can get some bug with over extrusion due to the prime and suck function done on all small segments in this parts.
If it's your case, and to avoid this, you can set more loops in style tab.
An other experimental solution is in your material tab set the min jump and the other one in the box value higher. I setup 15 and it seems working.

Cubex printers are definitively weird to setup...

Hugues

Reduce the solid% into material tab.

At afternoon I will try the tweaks you asked to do.

The main problem is the GAIN on extruder 2 and 3, all the Gain values must be set to 0.0225.
Correct this before any other change.

Giovanni thanks!
That helps... But other things appear...
Changed the gain on extruder 2 and 3 (I'm only using second extruder) , also increased a but the layer height, from 0.1 to 0.2, and reduced the infiel from100% to 33%...

This are the results:

How can be possible the diagonal offset, only on the letters? The base is ok.
And why didn't cover the surface? Only shows the inside structure.
