I had a problem with a malfunctioning Z-limit sensor (reed relay didn't close, not even when I touch it with a magnet.
I tried to replace it with a optical switch and a relay. Checking this in the Manual Move manu It showed the 'Z' symbol every time I interrupted the optical swiitch. But at some point the 'Z'-symbol didn;t disapear any more. Even after removing the optical switch and the relay completely.
I contacted 3Dsystems and we discussed replacing the Z-limit sensor and the print-jet breakout board.
I received those two today and replaced them. I even reflashed the firmware (1.07) without succes.
Whatever the position of the printing bed, it shows the 'Z' symbol suggesting it reached the upper position.
Next parts to replace will be the cable between the breakout board and the mainboard (I tested this with a multimeter, but that cable seems ok. Paying another 120 euro (including VAT and shipping) without nowing if this will solve my problem is too much.
Does anyone have any suggestions.
