Hi all,
My name is Steve, I am brand new to this board and still fairly new to 3d printing w/kisslicer. I know not all folks here are using same 3d printer, so I am hoping maybe someone here can give me quick configuration guidance with Dual Extruders in general. I recently upgraded to the Dual Extruder on TAZ 4 (from http://www.lulzbot.com). I am not sure the best way to configure KISlicer to print properly when switching between the extruders. Right now the HIPS and ABS are just printing at a relative distance apart (they are 50 mm apart on Y axis). Is there gcode or some other option I need to setup in kislicer so it knows how to reposition the currently selected extruder over the part ?
This is my config as it relates to the dual heads so far
On the "Printer Tab"
Hardware tab:
# of Extruders = 2
Extruders tab:
Ext 1: HIPS
Ext 2: ABS
Ext Map:
Object: Ext 2
Interface: Ext 1
Support: Ext 2
Raft: Ext 1
On "Ptr-Gcode" tab
Select Extruder
still have default values ?? not sure what I should put there:
; Select extruder, warm, purge
; 5D-style
T<EXT+0>
M109 S<TEMP>
Deselect Extruder
still have default values ?? not sure what I should put there:
; Guaranteed same extruder, cooling down
; 5D-style
M104 S<TEMP>

Re: How to: Multiple Extruders
I don't have multiple extruders so I only can see these settings:
Printer > Extruder Hardware
and
Printer > Extruder Materials
When you set the X and Y offset in Extruder Hardware it should just work, shouldn't it?

Is it labeled something else, I don't see anywhere to put an offset in the hardware tab.

Printer > Hardware
Set the number of extruders to two. Then you will be able to use those settings.

Re: How to: Multiple Extruders
In that case, you should either update Kisslicer or configure the offset in your printer firmware.
