Hi. Likewise, I use M$ Defender. Just downloaded and opened the ZIP file just fine.

At the moment, this is the only way to get this version. The main download pages will be updated hopefully soon, so you may have to wait, sorry.

@pjr - is there any chance we could get a new compile of the macOS version of the latest beta?
The current build causes a lot of issues and, while usable, it's extremely tedious having to close multiple allow windows when you try to open a file.
+ the 3mf support would be nice on the Mac build
