Ah, I must have misinterpreted the "Most important thing for me" bit.

As for voids, I've tried to do the simple test case — two object with voids within and it asks to mark them void fine, so I'm attaching the stl that actually results in silently doing nothing about them.

Well, I couldn't attach it with the weirdest message "The extension stl is not allowed". Of all the extensions on this forum I would expect this one to be disallowed the least. :) So here's the dropbox link — https://www.dropbox.com/s/yco3jxhh6hjsi8y/sl.stl?dl=0

It's the same on PR forum (also phpBB). You have to zip things up first. I think it allows images and zip files.

Ah, I see. It's likely to be configurable. Anyway, I'll keep that in mind, but meanwhile I suppose dropbox link shouldn't be a problem and I don't need to reupload?

And yes, those voids are ignored.

Will add that to the list.

Thanks

Here's one I will put on the list, but will post the G-code here:

There's some weird code which caused the nozzle to go walkabout at a layer change:

Code: Select all

; 'Destring/Wipe/Jump Path', 0.0 [feed mm/s], 100.0 [head mm/s]
; 'Destring Suck'
G1 E-0.8 F2100
; head speed 100.000000, filament speed 0.000000, preload 0.000000
; Prepare for End-Of-Layer
G1 X90.591 Y113.388 Z1.5 E0 F720
;
; 'Travel Path', 0.0 [feed mm/s], 200.0 [head mm/s]
G1 X90.493 Y113.485 E0 F12000
; head speed 200.000000, filament speed 0.000000, preload 0.000000

G1 X132.92 Y110.091 E0
G1 X173.932 Y96.515 E0

; time estimate: pre = 46.169674, post = 104.327133

;
; Post-layer lift
G1 X175.063 Y96.232 Z1.7 E0 F720
; END_LAYER_OBJECT z=1.000
; BEGIN_LAYER_OBJECT z=1.200 z_thickness=0.200
;
; 'Loop Path', 2.5 [feed mm/s], 75.0 [head mm/s]
G1 X94.738 Y112.214 Z1.2 E0 F12000
; 'Destring Prime'
G1 E0.8 F2100
; head speed 75.000000, filament speed 2.494511, preload 0.183347

G1 X93.823 Y112.893 E0.01657 F4500
Printing at about X=90, then goes waltzing off to 175 and back... This is with a 4 filament (SNMM) print.

Seems to happen also at the end of that extruder's path before moving to the purge tower.

Ah, I think I see what's happening; it's going to the start of the next extruder's path before moving to the tower and this is happening at every tool change.

I'm not sure if this is by design or a fault, but I have noticed if I have support that contacts the skirt it will print the infill first and then the skirt and there will be a portion of the infill with little plastic on the first layer. It seems to me that it would make more sense to print the skirt first so the extruder is primed and ready when it begins the infill.

Yesterday I had a sudden urge to upgrade to the premium license (for no good reason) and found a horrible UI shortcoming.
license.png
it does show that the license is premium, but doesn't mention it in the writeup! Monstrous!

More seriously, I went to that window first trying to find where to enter the product key, I fully expected that I can get there from "license" dialog, maybe a button there and/or about box would be a nice idea. It's not quite natural to look in the "file" menu, especially on mac, where it's not really the very very first menu.

Obviously, this is not a priority item, if one has bought a license he will find a way to enter product key eventually ;-)
