cubex not heating up to desired temperature during nozzel ch

Post by mchen »

Hey guys,

I have a cubex trio,
when I try to print with two nozzles,
during nozzle change the temperature of the nozzle that is going to be used does not heat up to the right temperature before it purges and prints.
for example, lets say I am printing pla with pva support.
when the pla nozzle finishes a layer, the pva nozzle is then supposed to be heated up and print the support part.
lets say my pva temperature is 210 degrees, and the nozzle, since it was sitting around, cooled to 150 degrees.
this nozzle moves to the purging area at the right back of the printer, and starts to heat up.
but before it actually reaches 210 degrees, it starts to purge at about 180 degrees and does not wait for the nozzle to completely heat up.
this happens to all extruders during changing.
this could cause the print jet motors to skip steps because of the unheated material, and also damage the print.

any solutions?
please help!
Thanks!

There is a box for heat coefficient in the misc tab. I have never changed it, but if I was having that issue I would try to look there first. Maybe it is not giving the matl enough time to heat up.
