The stl is part of https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2064359

Ive uploaded it as a test STL on it's own:
https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2782892

Unfortunately I cant add an STL here. The model seems manifold and I can see any overlapping vertices or edges. Is this a bug, or is the model at fault?

ive played around with different settings CRown/Seam/Stepover - none of them seem to make any difference. The only time this behaviour stops is if I only do a single loop.... but I dont want to just do a single loop, for the sake of model strength

So my thinking : If it is a model issue, why is there no issue on a single loop? Thus I would lean towards thinking this is a bug. I wish I could re-produce it with a simple model.

Hi

Ive just discovered an overlapping edge - clearly this caused some confusion for kisslicer. No reported errors tho, when loading the model...

Even though one could argue this is a model issue, this is very hard to spot, since the two edges are right on top of each other. Id think it should be possible to treat this object as manifold still, and I still dont understand why the extra paths are necessary.

The pictures shows the bad one left, and good one right.

It is going to be very hard to see this in Blender given the overlap is hidden. Is there a way to fix this automatically? Is there a case to be made that Kisslicer could be made more robust in it's behavior to this kind of manifold (but overlapping) object?

There are a couple of great tools out there for repairing models. I always repair before printing; there's loads of issues which can be missed by all slicers.

MakePrintable.com is a good one, and you get 3 free every months. When that allowance is used up, you could try Windows 3D builder or NetFabb basic.
