Multiple extruders with different nozzle'sizes

Post by Olivier13 »

Hi
In case of using 2 extruders, one with a Ø0.6 nozzle, the other with Ø0.4 nozzles, it could be nice to have the extrusion width setting in the MATL tab.

That's actually a very good suggestion. Well the other one would be to being able to print with a different thickness. Let's say you nozzle have a 0,4 and 0,6 nozzle. The 0,4 is for printing material the 0,6 is for support material. The layer thickens for 0,4nozzle is let's say 0,2mm and the thickens for the support could be 0,4mm. In this way the support get printed every two layers making the whole thing much much faster! Support quality isn't important anyway!

this is handily taken care of with a combination of the "stacked layers/support" setting and the "support flow gain" setting. you can set the support flow gain to be as much as twice the rate of the model material, or as low as 10%

Yeah, right! But in my suggestion the slicer slices a model "normally", so one go for each layer, but for the support the slicer should OMIT every second layer!! That's the whole catch... thus making printing quite faster!
Probably I wasn't clear enough... ;)

Cheers,D.
