Visible Support Interface Path

Hi!

My first post here. I'm not speaking english natively, but I hope you understand what I mean. :)

I'm having trouble, with the slicer. It's making a very visible artifact on the perimiter, that looks like a seam. When checking the "Paths" its clear that its where it changes from a "support interface path" to a "perimiter path"
It's whenever there's an overhang, a few millimeters from the edge of that.

I can't figure out how to fix it. Support settings are off, so I don't even see why it should make such a path. It's the same on both version 1.6 and 2.0

Hope you can help me. Thanks.

Hi and welcome.

Can you please post some screenshots showing the problem.

Also, can you please zip up and upload a small model which exhibits this behaviour, along with the Project file (exported from the "Project/Save project as" menu).

Thanks

Peter

Hi, I was actually just taking photos as I realized I did not give you much to go on.

I'll attach images of two models, and a screenshot of what I think points to the problem (Support interface path <-> Perimiter path).

Thanks!

That path looks very much like the non-printing extruder moves, when the Settings/Style/Travel is set to anything other than "Simple".

Ok tried it out with travel set to "simple". Still the same error.
I noticed, the printer slows down on this point where the error occurs.
Also tried disabling wipe. Also not better.

1. Sorry, I was looking at the squiggly white line.
2. The pink is the unsupported (fully or partially) part of the path where the print is slowed according to the amount of support and the cool mm/s value.

Now I tried reinstalling the program, deleting all the old profiles. Also disabled preload, destring and wipe. Nothing helps.
I'll upload a simple test model and a new project file. I really hope someone can help, as this is my favorite slicer.
Is official support checking this forum too?

So, what we have here is as follows:

White lines are the travel moves
Blue lines are the printing moves
Magenta lines are the printing with overhang moves.

Printing with overhang moves are slowed down because you have the "Cool [mm^3/s]" value set to 1 (i.e. 10% of the maximum print speed). These paths will be faster than 1mm^3/s because they are partially supported. But they will be slowed down. Only totally unsupported paths (bridging) will be printed at 1mm^3/sec.

These paths will still be displayed in Magenta, even if the "Cool [mm^3/s]" is set to 10, but in this instance, there will be no slowing down (but there may be a slight increase in fan speed).

I hope this is clearer.

Hi Peter sorry I misunderstood your last reply regarding this.

This helped! Saved my day.

Set it to 10 secs and now I have warping, but the marks are gone. I'll have to find the right setting. ;)
Had completely misunderstood the function of that setting.

Now I can make a few more gifts for Christmas using KISSlicer

Thanks! :D
