Post by kyrilm »

Hi. I try linux build 1.6.3 version.

Filesystem have files and folders named in russian language. But I see only boxes in list.

Is there a way to fix this?

I am working on a 1.6.4 release and would like to try to fix this issue...could you please try this:

[Project]->[Load Project / G-code Settings], then change the acceptable file type at the bottom right to "All Files (*.*)". At that point, can you see the filenames show up?

If that shows the filenames correctly then I know a workaround. If it doesn't work, could you let me know exactly which Linux build you are running? Maybe I can duplicate the issue on Virtualbox.

In the meantime, you should still be able to open files by dragging and dropping them from the file explorer to the preview window. And the command line should work as well.

thanks,
Jonathan

By the way. If I load russian translation file, I see the same problems in UI.

OK, please try this build:

https://www.dropbox.com/s/0lakamxvcohol ... S.zip?dl=1

It has a few changes that try to set the locale, and it should let you change the menu setting [Preferences]->[File Handling]->[Preview on Open STL] to unchecked. With preview checked I use a simplified "file chooser" so I can add the rendered STL preview image, but with it unchecked it uses the OS's native file chooser.

Please let me know how this build works...I'm basically ready for this release except for this issue (then back to development on the much more fun v2 alphas [8^)

thanks,
Jonathan
