Reach printer setup issue

Post by Quantumcat »

I am trying to set up KISSLICER to use with my Reach printer. Currently I use Cura as my slicer but I am unhappy with how it does support. I have used KISSLICER in the past with a OneUP printer without issue. Unfortunately I cannot say the same with the Reach. The main issue is with the extruder. The problem is it seems to over extrude (a lot) on the first line then it starts pulling the back in roughly 15mm then pushing it back out the same amount as the X and Y position changes. The end result is a single 20mm long line and then it chewing up the filament in the extruder. I am sure I am missing information needed to diagnose the problem, so please feel free to let me know what you need. Would it help to draw up a small simple 2 layer cube and slice it in Cura and KISSLICER to compare the results? I have tried adjusting the Gain by running the below g code and measuring how much filament the extruder drive pushes out the tube. Setting it to 26 gave me 100mm of filament.

Here is a sample of the code KISSLICER is producing. (Minus the startup codes)

Did you use the Wizards to create your Printer, Style, Material and Support profiles?

It's a bit difficult to diagnose issues without the full picture.

Can you please zip up a complete G-code file you have created and attach it to a post.
