Different slice settings for aligned models - possible or not?

Post by Nxt-1 »

I am wondering if this is possible and if so, how :D

I have a large part that I want to print, that needs quite a bit of support. The support is modeled outside of KISSlicer and saved in a separate .stl file (although this can be changed if needed). I want to slice the both solids with different settings for the style tab, while keeping the solids tied to the same origin obviously. The main reason I want to do this in this specific case is that I want less loops for the support model.

It seems to me there are two ways to go about this. One is to import one .stl, slice it and lock the paths. Then import the 2nd model, change settings, slice it as well. This issue here is that the models are not aligned but rather packed on the build plate, as would normally be needed for multiple solids.

The other approach is importing the two solids at the same time, as one would do for dual material printing I believe, keeping the models aligned. While this allows to differentiate materials for each solid, different style settings seem impossible.

Looking forward to your suggestions.
